"Two of Us"

I listened to Let It Be yester-day, but even before I listened to it, I had a couple small realizations about "Two of Us."

"Lifting" in the line "Lifting latches" is sung to an ascending pair of notes (although it's only a small interval:  just a whole step from A to B), musically illustrating its meaning.

The line "Standing solo in the sun" exhibits alliteration, and this repetition of a single sound matches the singularity of "solo."

"Honey Don't"

Yester-day, I was thinking about "Honey Don't" and noticed a small connection between the melody and the lyrics.  In the line "A-say you will when you won't" in the chorus, "you will" is sung to an ascending pair of notes (B D), and "you won't" is sung to a descending pair (C# B).  These opposite directions match the contrast between "will" and "won't."

I also referenced Carl Perkins' original and discovered that this feature isn't present there.
