"Honey Don't"

Yester-day, I was thinking about "Honey Don't" and noticed a small connection between the melody and the lyrics.  In the line "A-say you will when you won't" in the chorus, "you will" is sung to an ascending pair of notes (B D), and "you won't" is sung to a descending pair (C# B).  These opposite directions match the contrast between "will" and "won't."

I also referenced Carl Perkins' original and discovered that this feature isn't present there.
